FMC forges partnership with Glenwood

Franklin Medical Center has forged a limited partnership with Glenwood Regional Medical Center that will allow patients to receive certain medical treatment at the West Monroe facility.

The agreement comes as part of a program to create partnerships between state-run and privately-operated medical facilities to give low-income patients more treatment options.

The partnership with Glenwood is not as broad as was hoped, but FMC patients will be able take advantage of some services offered by the larger medical facility, said Blake Kramer, FMC's administrator.

"We have found that emergency room services and anesthetic services were not feasible, but we have agreed to pursue pathology and radiology services there," Kramer told FMC's board of commissioners during Thursday's regular meeting.
