Winnsboro passed it's highest budget ever—$2.8 million—during Monday's regular meeting of the city council.

The budget, which will go into effect July 1, is about $487,000 more than they were in Winnsboro's last fiscal year. General funds revenues in 2010-2011 were roughly $2.3 million.

Anticipated revenue for the city this fiscal year includes $1.87 million in sales tax collection, $190,000 in property tax collection, $254,000 in license fees, $170,000 in franchise fees and other smaller, miscellaneous income.
