Pilot program to assist parish youth
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Franklin Parish Business and Career Solutions Center selected five individuals to participate in a pilot program that aims to assist young people in successfully transitioning from youth to adulthood.

Those participating are Mindy Caudle, Lynndsey Griffith, Michael Jenkins, Chelsea Levy, and Surda Wallace.

The program consists of ten components with the first component being a 6-week summer employment training program.

This component is designed to allow the participants of HOPE (Helping Our People Excel) to learn "soft skills." Soft skills are the first steps to getting and keeping a job; such as, how to dress and be on time. It is soft skills that employers most often say are lacking in today's young employees.
