Putting a unique twist on the sports scene, a local athlete will compete at the College National Finals Rodeo next week. Winnsboro native Jeremy Mercer recently qualified for the CNFR while competing for McNeese State University in Lake Charles.

It is another step toward greatness for Mercer who qualified for the CNFR last year as well. Mercer will compete in the team roping.
