Kids Chef Camp offered in July

Learning to cook helps children learn about nutrition and healthy eating. It also helps boost their self-esteem – they learn something new, accomplish a task and can then in turn make a contribution to the family.

Cooking is a great way to learn life skills and also provides real lessons in science, math, language and creativity.

Learning to cook teaches children to plan and make decisions. It all starts with a recipe and a desire to learn.

The LSU AgCenter will be conducting a three day Kid's Chef Camp on July 12 - 14, 2011 for kids aged 9 to 12 years old.

The camp will help kids learn the basics about good nutrition and physical activity and relate it to their everyday life through hands-on activities, food preparation skills and sampling.
