Albert (Mackie) and Shirley Priest Cobb will celebrate 50 years of marriage on June 8, 2011.

Al Cobb met Shirley Priest while attending church together as children. They both attended and graduated from Winnsboro High School then married the summer after graduation in Hamburg, Ark.

The couple has made their home throughout the United States during the past 50 years. Al joined the U.S. Army shortly before their marriage and they spent the following 20 years living and traveling all across the United States - even Alaska for three years.

After retiring as a Major for the United States Army, Al Cobb pursued a career with Production Credit Association and Federal Land Bank where he again retired - this time in Winnsboro. Shirley worked as a bank teller over the years, but finished her career out at Winnsboro State Bank.
