Emily Collins, a graduate of Franklin Academy, recently received several awards after completing her second year of softball at Holmes Community College in Goodman, Miss.

Collins was named MVP (for the second year) and best offensive player at the college's athletic banquet. She holds the record for most wins at Holmes.

Other awards given were all-state and all-division honorable mentions. Collins will graduate with a 3.9 GPA and plans to continue to play softball in Mississippi next year at a four-year college.
