FCCS students enjoy annual fashion show, tea party The beautiful lakefront home of Rep. and Mrs. Noble Ellington served as a fitting backdrop for Ms. Bobbie Bruce's annual American Girl and Boy tea party on Wednesday, May 18.
Students in Bruce's second grade class at Family Community Christian School present a fashion show each spring featuring the styles and fashions from pivotal moments throughout American history.
Students attend the tea party dressed in period clothing of characters featured in the American Girl book series.
The stories are told from the perspective of a young protagonist and detail the experiences and important lessons of children growing up in early, colonial and post-modern America.
Following Miss Manderly's instructions on how to properly serve tea in the story of "Felicity," students put into practice the lessons of social graces and proper table etiquette while enjoying a complimentary mix of savories and sweets. Ms. Bruce attended the tea party dressed as Miss Manderly. For the full story, subscribe to the The Franklin Sun's NEW E-Edition! |
