Winnsboro cycler traveling across Florida

Winnsboro native Justin Johns began the journey of his life on May 15.

Johns, a junior at Louisiana Tech University, is part of a group of 28 cyclists and eight crew members that are participating in Push America's Gear Up Florida.

The trip is an 800-mile cycling event across Florida, from Miami to Tallahassee. He is cycling to raise funds and awareness for people with disabilities.

"It's an eye opening experience. Now, I can really see what other people are going through and how I can help them," Johns said.
