Winnsboro High School Class of 1961 celebrated their 50th class reunion on April 15 and 16, 2011. They gathered in West Monroe on Friday night to talk about the "good old days" and tell tales that no one remembered the same way.

Two class members, Frank Massony and Wayne Laforge, were present on Friday but unable to attend on Saturday.

A large group of about 70 people gathered at First Baptist Church, Winnsboro, on Saturday from 4 p.m. until everyone went home around 10 p.m. Fellowship, an excellent program and good food was enjoyed by all present.

The most moving part of the program was a memorial built and narrated by Billy Williams and Thomas Burnside. A cross and picture with birth and death dates represented each deceased class member: Burt Boyle, Hines Davis, Joe Henry, Richard McDuff, James "Jim" Merrill, Linda D. Phillips, William "Billy" Robinson, Steve Slaughter, Ralph Thomas, Charles Warbington, Joey White, and Catherine Wollerson Davis. On May 2, the class lost another member, Irma Miller Morace.
