posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The banquet is a coordinated effort of the Winnsboro-Franklin Chamber of Commerce and the Franklin Parish School Board and Superintendent.

The original organizers wanted an event to recognize students for their academic successes and this has continued.

The first banquet was held at the then Winnsboro High School with students 9-12 with a 3.3 GPA being recognized. The next year the banquet was moved to the previous.

Winnsboro Junior High Gymnasium. The decision was made in 1989 to invite only juniors and seniors with a 3.5 GPA.

The banquet would be held permanently in the cafeteria of Winnsboro High School now Franklin Parish High School on the third Thursday in April.
