Story Archives: A good week to be an American

A good week to be an American
by Tom Bonnette - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
With the economy in the tank and the divisive nature that permeates politics these days, it's nice to revel in some good news.

No news could be better than that Osama bin Laden has been taken out by American Navy SEALs.

The scruffy terrorist that met his end this week while using women as human shields came on my radar quicker than he did most Americans.

Years before he directed the destruction of the Twin Towers, he blew up the place where I once lived. Granted, I spent a short time at Khobar Towers when I was a solider in Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War, but it's destruction in 1996 hit home in a personal way.

For those of you who have forgotten or don't know the story, it should be remembered that the 9-11 attacks weren't the first time bin Laden's hands were soaked in American blood.
