Walker guest speaker at annual Black Heritage Banqu Mr. and Miss Black Heritage 2011, were named during the Annual Black Heritage Banquet held on Feb. 25 at Franklin Parish High School.
The keynote speaker for the occasion was Juanita Moffitt Walker, an educator and renowned author from Clinton, Miss.
She obtained her education was in Hinds County Public School System and graduated from Utica Agriculture High School, Utica Junior College and Jackson State University. She earned a Master's Degree in Personnel and Guidance from Purdue University in Hammond, Indiana.
Walker, in her very informative and encouraging message, related many important facts about Black History.
She expressed the most important factors that will help to stabilize any family or community. These factors are (1) maintaining a strong family unit (2) obtaining a good education and (3) hard work.
