Parish leads state in bad health habits
For the second consecutive year, a study ranks Franklin Parish residents as some of the least healthy people in Louisiana.
The study, released earlier this month by the University of Wisconsin's Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, places Franklin Parish dead last in a category that includes bad habits like smoking, binge
drinking and overeating.
Overall, Franklin Parish is ranked the 54th most unhealthy parish, but remains at the very bottom of the list of residents with bad health behaviors. This is the second year that the study ranking overall health on a county-by-county basis has been released.
