Gators take on Cedar Creek Cougars

The Delhi Charter School Gators return to baseball action on Thursday when they host the Cedar Creek School Cougars at 6 p.m.

The Gators finally got a chance to savor the sweet taste of victory in a three-game sweep of cross-town rival Delhi High School on Saturday.

The Gators completed the three-game sweep of the Bears with ease in wins of 18-4, 8-5, and 17-3.

"We played better for sure," DCS head coach Chad Johnson said. "Delhi was much better than they have been in the past, but we were able to put together some hits and score six runs in the fifth inning and six more in the sixth during that first game to get our offense going."

Johnson felt like the Gators came out a little tentative in the first few innings on Thursday because of some lopsided losses to St. Frederick and defending state champion Ouachita Christian School.
