Warhawks slated to play Florida on Friday

The University of Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks will return home for the first time in over a week on Friday as they begin a three-game conference series against Florida International University.

ULM is coming off a 8-3 loss in the rubber game of a three-game series at South Alabama in Mobile last weekend.

USA won the final game of the series, 8-3 on Sunday to take 2-of-3 in the series.
ULM began the series with a 8-3 victory behind the solid pitching performance of Drew Granier.

Granier struggled with control issues early on but settled in to strikeout a season-high 10 batters and allow just seven hits and three runs over seven innings pitched.
James Jones recorded his third save of the year with two scoreless innings of relief work after entering the game in the eighth inning.

South Alabama scored once in the first and twice in the second.

ULM then began to chip away at the lead with an RBI groundout and RBI single by Les Aulds in the third and fifth innings, respectively.
