Honor a veteran with memorial brick The nation's veterans have contributed much for our country, so it's only right to show gratitude by continuing to contribute to a memorial in their honor in Franklin Parish.
American Legion Post 84 is asking for help with the Franklin Parish Veterans Memorial at Davis Park, where which bricks can be purchased with Franklin Parish veterans' names on them to pay tribute to locals who have sacrificed for our freedom by serving in the armed forces.
"We have come a long way since we started the memorial," said Bobby Collins of the American Legion. "When we first poured the concrete for this tribute, it was poured for 1,200 bricks to be laid and it filled up pretty quickly."For the full story, subscribe to the The Franklin Sun's NEW E-Edition! |
