Gilbert vying for cleanest city honors

The village of Gilbert is gearing up to participate in the Cleanest City competition. The contest will be judged April 6.

Mayor Mike Stephens is asking residents to assist with a town-wide clean-up effort to make Gilbert the cleanest city in North Louisiana.

"I know this is short notice, but if we all pitch in, we can get a lot accomplished," said Stephens. Gilbert will compete with other towns of the same size for the prestigious award.
