Crowville man drowns in lake
by Tom Bonnette - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
A Crowville man drowned last Wednesday while fishing in Crockett Point Lake, according to authorities.

James R. Thomas, 69, was found floating dead in the lake about 10 p.m. Wednesday night after his family reported he was missing when he didn't return from fishing.

Wildlife and Fisheries region Capt. Alan Bankston said Thomas' fishing boat was found adrift on the lake bank and his body was later found partially obscured by a paddle boat a short distance away in about eight feet of water.
