Career day guides students to job opportunities

It helps to have the skills to succeed in landing a job is today's tough job market.

So give themselves an upper hand, Franklin Parish High School students spent a day at Louisiana Technical College in Winnsboro learning how to make themselves more attractive to prospective employers.

The Career Day was sponsored by FPHS' Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) program.

"What students learn is important things like how to write a proper essay, how to fill out a job application correctly and vital interview skills—all of this relates to what we call the JAG umbrella of job readiness skills," said Anne Halcomb, JAG instructor for the high school.
