Quiz bowl winners announced
The seventh Black Heritage Quiz Bowl was held Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011 at King Jesus Worship Center, 315 McCaleb Road, Winnsboro. The program opened with Chantel Scott during the devotion, followed by "Lift Every Voice."
This year four churches from throughout Winnsboro participated in the event: Cathedral of Love & Faith (Khadijah Neal, LaQuindrelyn McMahon, Devondrick Johnson, Kimberly); True Light B.C. (Joeyiesha Davis, LaDeidre Miles, Antonio Howard); Winnsboro Second B.C. (Jaimee Smith, Jalexi Heard, Demecia Foy, KeErica Richardson); and King Jesus Worship Center (LaJasmine Mathis, DeLarrius Mathis, Marvin Scott II, Gavin Scott).
Included on the Quiz Bowl program was the audience participation segment. For this portion of the program, the adults were given opportunities to test their knowledge on "little known facts abut African Americans." Rev. Herman Harris presided over this segment by acknowledging participants with the correct answers.
