Pariot coach sees improvements

The Franklin Parish Patriots (5-4) won two out of three games in their own Michael Johnston Memorial Baseball Tournament over the weekend and now set their sights on winning the Caldwell-LaSalle Parish Tournament. The Patriots began last weekend with a 2-1 victory over the Rayville Hornets.

Nathan Gallup blasted a solo home run and Brian Moroni picked up a RBI single to produce enough offense for pitcher Mason Liles and John Robbins to push the Patriots on to victory.
Liles got the start and gave up six hits and only one run in 5.1 innings.

Robbins finished off Ravyille over the final 1.2 innings with no hits and three strikeouts.
The Patriots picked up their offense on the second day of the tournament with an 11-1 win over the Delhi Charter School Gators.

Michael Whitley went 3-for-3 at the plate while Mason Liles and Chris Austin went 2-for-3.
"We hit the ball better," Franklin Parish head coach Lynn Middleton said. "We had 11 total hits against Delhi Charter."

Middleton is still concerned that the team can't seem to bring the offense to the park on a consistent basis.
