A five-month investigation by the Franklin Parish Sheriff's Office culminated late last week with the arrests of nearly two dozen people suspected of illegal drug activity in the parish.

According to officials, Operation March Madness concluded Thursday morning with the arrests of 23 suspects who were booked into the Franklin Parish Detention Center on charges ranging from manufacturing methamphetamine to possession of marijuana.

Deputies and investigators with the FPSO executed 31 arrest warrants issued during the investigation for 52 people suspected of various drug-related crimes.

"We are very pleased with the results of the investigation," said Kevin Cobb, FPSO Chief Deputy. "Our narcotics officer did a great job compiling information needed to make this large number of arrests."
