LSU to host Sacred Heart
by Cody Futrell - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The No. 7 Louisiana State University Tigers will be back in action Wednesday when they host Sacred Heart at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge.

The Tigers (11-1) will be looking to bounce back from their first loss of the season suffered Sunday in a 8-7 loss to Princeton.

LSU loaded the bases in the ninth inning with just one out and trailing 8-7 but left-hader David Palms sat down two straight LSU hitters to earn the save and give Princeton their first win of the 2011 season.

Princeton starting pitcher Micahel Fagan earned the victory as he allowed five earned runs on one hit and five walks in 3.1 innings on the mound. LSU right-hander Ben Alsup took the loss for the Tigers as he surrendered three runs and walked four in 4.2 innings of work.
LSU first basebaman Alex Edward recorded two hits, including a double, to lead the Tigers at the plate.
