The Franklin Parish Patriots (3-3) will host the annual Michael Johnson Memorial Tournament at FPHS this week in Winnsboro.

The tournament is named after Johnson, aformer Patriot player, who succumbed to cancer in 2006.

The tournament begins at 4 p.m. Thursday and admission to the tournament will be $5 each day. The final game of the round-robin tournament will be Saturday at 7 p.m. when the Patriots play Caldwell Parish.

The Patriots begin their tournament slate at 6:15 p.m. Thursday against Rayville before playing Delhi Charter on Friday at 6:15 p.m.

The team is coming off a 1-2 showing in the Rayville tournament last week.
The Patriots downed Farmerville 6-3, but lost to Jena, 7-2, and Forest, 7-0.
Ethan Bass went 4-for-7 at the plate over the weekend with two RBI.

Bass leads the team in hitting along with Tyler Lively who is batting .500 with a pair of runs scored.
