School board discusses Wisner property

Wisner may soon have a substation of the Franklin Parish Sheriff's Office if a deal is worked out with the local school board for the property.

FPSO Chief Deputy Kevin Cobb spoke to members of the board Monday evening during their regular business meeting.

"The substation we established in Crowville several years ago has been a tremendous benefit to the community," Cobb said. "This could be a win-win for everyone involved – the school board, the sheriff's department and that community."

Cobb said the plan would consists of relocating the moveable building in Crowville where the substation is located, formerly the location of Franklin State Bank, to a one-acre lot in Wisner currently owned by the Franklin Parish School Board. FSB donated the lot and attached fixtures to the sheriff's department last year.
