Six Louisiana cotton industry members have been named to leadership positions in the National Cotton Council (NCC) for 2011.

John E. Carroll, Gilbert, and Ted Schneider, Lake Providence, were elected as the Louisiana co-chairmen of the NCC's American Cotton Producers. Elected as advisors to the NCC Board were Newellton cotton producers Jon W. Hardwick and Benjamin Guthrie.

Elected as the NCC Louisiana unit officers were: Thomas Parker, a Lake Providence producer, chairman; Schneider, vice chairman; and Larry Sayes, a Vick producer; secretary.

The cotton industry leaders were named to their posts during the 2011 NCC Annual Meeting in San Antonio on Feb. 4-6.
