Fort School and community leaders celebrate literacy with Dr. Seuss
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
It was a Cat In the Hat celebration at Fort Necessity Junior High on March 2 as the Family Career and Community Leaders of America helped spread the word about children's literacy through the National Education Association's Read Across America project.

Students were treated to a fun-filled day of Dr. Seuss-themed birthday cake, games, prizes and story time with several local celebrities and community leaders. Teachers and staff got in on the fun in Cat and the Hat costumes and the children constructed their own Cat in the Hat paper hats to wear for the party.

Keith Ferrington, Debbie Hodges, Rod Elrod, Zach Johnson, Ruby Smith and Darrell Teats read the children Seuss classics such as "Green Eggs and Ham," "Horton Hears a Whoo," "There's a Wocket in my Pocket," and many more.
