Warhawks to battle in Hot Springs
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The University of Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks (7-23) will be the No. 6 seed out of the Western Division in the upcoming Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Tournament in Hot Springs, Ark.

The Warhawks will open the tournament against the No. 3 Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.
The two teams have met once before this season. WKU hosted ULM on Feb. 5 with the Hilltoppers running away with a 81-61 victory.

ULM closed their regular season with a 61-46 loss at home to rival Louisiana-Lafayette.
Senior Tommie Sykes, playing in his final ULM home game, scored nine points while junior guard Fred Brown added a team-high 13 points to pace the Warhawk offense.

The loss to the Ragin Cajuns ended the season with the Warhawks going 0-8 at home in conference play. It is the first time since Fant-Ewing Coliseum opened in 1971 that the Warhawks have not won a conference home game.
