Runners and walkers, get ready.

The Catfish Classic 5K is returning to Winnsboro after an absence of nearly a decade.
"We've got a vibrant running community in Winnsboro and Franklin Parish," said Barry Stevens, who serves as race director, "and we thought it would be a neat thing to revive the race. We can showcase our area and have fun doing it."

Sponsored by the Franklin Parish Catfish Festival, the race will be held on Saturday, April 2, one week before the Catfish Festival.

A 1-mile Fun Run will begin at 8 a.m. with the Catfish Classic 5K set to start at 8:30 a.m.
