Johnson's Turkey Creek triumvirate of trouble
Sometimes things happen that just can't be explained. There being not enough councilmen present at Monday night's regular meeting to have a meeting was not one of those times.
Councilman Craig Gill, of Gill First National Funeral Home, was out of town on business.
After Mayor Jackie Johnson Johnson was forced to cancel the meeting, Councilman Sonny Dumas told me in a telephone interview that he was sick and couldn't be there.
I was also able to reach Richard Mahoney by telephone. Mahoney said he had personal business and could not make the meeting in time.
What Gill, Dumas and Mahoney all have on common besides not being at the meeting is that they have all opposed approving Johnson's push for a $1.8 million feasibility study for his Turkey Creek Development Project in the past.
