Catfish Festival to celebrate 25th birthday

The Franklin Parish Catfish Festival will celebrate its 25th birthday on April 9 with a day-long event that will bring thousands to historic downtown Winnsboro.

"It's hard to believe it's been 25 years since the first festival," said festival director Paul Price, Jr. "We plan to celebrate the landmark day in style, with something for everyone attending."
"The festival has certainly put Winnsboro and Franklin Parish on the map," Price added. "The festival itself has grown from very humble beginnings on the elementary school campus to become known as the largest one-day festival in Louisiana."

Corporate sponsors for this year's festival include the Franklin Parish Tourism Commission and the Louisiana Office of Tourism.
