LTC director announces retirement During its monthly meeting, the Louisiana Community and Technical College, Norene Smith (center) is congratulated on her retirement by LCTCS President Joe D. May (left) and LCTCS Board Member E. Edwards Barham. Smith was also named Regional Director Emeritus of Northeast Louisiana Technical College.
System Board of Supervisors honored Norene Smith for her many years of service to the system on the occasion of her retirement. Smith has spent much of her life devoted to education with 40 years of experience in all aspects of career and technical education, including more than 27 years in leadership roles. She has served as the leader of the Northeast Louisiana Technical College for 11 years and was named Regional Director Emeritus via a resolution that was presented to her during the meeting.
"We are certainly going to miss Norene and her dynamic leadership style that greatly benefited the entire region she served. We thank her so much for her many years of hard work and her commitment to our System," said Dr. Joe D.
