Patriots to host Bearcats Thursday
The Franklin Parish Patriots and Lady Patriots will continue their District 3-4A schedule this week as they host the Ruston Bearcats and Lady Bearcats Thursday at 6 p.m. in Winnsboro.
Due to re-scheduling of last week's games due to ice storms the Patriots and Lady Patriots will play Neville Friday night t 6 p.m. in Winnsboro.
The game will mark the final game of the season for the Lady Patriots (3-20, 0-7) who face a Lady Bearcats team currently in second-place behind Bastrop in the District 3-4A standings.
The Lady Patriots will be attempting to snap a 10-game losing streak and send the home crowd away with a good last impression against Ruston. The Lady Bearcats have won five of their last six games and have one of the top defenses in the area. The Lady Bearcats have given up just 44 points per game in district and the Lady Bearcats have given up less than 40 points in wins over the Lady Patriots (57-39) and Neville (62-33) two weeks ago before a referee work stoppage and wintery weather put a stop to games last week.
