Mangham High School seniors Arthur Miley Jr. and Jeffery Watkins Jr. have been through a lot together since kindergarten, but the best is yet to come.

The life-long friends— both 17 years-old star defensive ends at Mangham—signed with Southern University on Wednesday. The 6-foot-6 Miley and 6-foot-4 Watkins have earned the full-scholarship the university has given them both on and off the grid-iron, said Mangham coach Tommy Tharp.

"First and foremost, theses two young men have done well academically," Tharp said. "The Lord has blessed them with size and ability and both received several offers from schools, but Southern found them first and they remained loyal by signing the dotted line."

Although they can be somewhat intimidating on the football field, the two players are soft-spoken and polite. It isn't hard to tell where they learned their good manners, looking at the broad smiles on the faces of proud parents as the student-athletes put pen to paper on Letters of Intent for Southern.
