Story Archives: Rebutting Johnson

Rebutting Johnson

There is an old saying advising against picking fights with someone who buys ink by the barrel.

While I don't personally buy ink buy the barrel, the people I work for do. They allow me to publish my opinions on this page, so it's pretty much the same thing.

Last week, The Franklin Sun ran a letter by Mayor Jackie Johnson in which he blasted me for what he described as a "miscarricature" of him and his agenda.

I think the word he was looking for is "mischaracterization," but he is only an elected official with several assistants paid for with tax money to help him with English language. I suppose he can be forgiven for such flubs.

To be fair, he could be referring to the caricatures I have drawn of him on this page, but I doubt it.

It's harder to overlook instances in his missive where he gets things flat wrong.

He's in luck, however, because I am dedicating this column to helping him see the error of his ways—and at no tax-payer expense. He can thank me later.
