Patriots to host Neville Friday
The Franklin Parish Patriots and Lady Patriots will be back on the basketball court when they host the Neville Tigers and Lady Tigers on Friday in Winnsboro.
The Patriots are coming off a 53-45 loss at Bastrop on Friday in which Bastrop made six consecutive free throw attempts in the closing minutes to keep the Patriots at bay and take the District 3-4A victory.
After falling behind 47-36 in the final quarter, the Patriots went on a 9-2 run to close the gap to four.
"Bastrop played really good zone defense," FPHS coach Wystee Kerry said. "I told the guys that we had to keep getting better and try to win these games on the road, but since we didn't it makes it even more important to win these remaining home games."
