Howard "Rawhide" Robinson has been chosen by the Franklin Parish Police Jury to temporarily replace Harvey Ray Guimbellot to represent District 6.

Robinson was sworn in by Franklin Parish Clerk of Court Ann Johnson at a special-called meeting on Tuesday in which he was approved by the jury for the position. Guimbellot quit the jury earlier this month, citing health problems related to a stroke he had a few of months ago.

Robinson said Guimbellot, a close friend, asked that he take his place on the jury until an election could be held in October.

"I know y'all said that it would be hard to fill his shoes and I've tried them on and they fit kind of tight. Maybe they will fit better come October," Robinson told jurors after the vote was cast placing him in Guimbellot's seat.
