A Winnsboro man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder, according to investigators with the Franklin Parish Sheriff's Department.

Dirviney Atkins, 18, 1612 Maple Street, is currently being held at the Franklin Parish Detention Center on $150,000 bond for the attempted murder of Phillip Kendricks of Winnsboro.

According to reports, deputies were called to Franklin Medical Center where two men with gunshot wounds were treated in the emergency room. After further investigation, it was revealed that Atkins left a nightclub in Peck with a group of friends before ending up at a residence on Louisiana Street where the shooting allegedly occurred.
