|Junior high football discussed|
The status quo could be changing in regards to how junior high football is organized and played in Franklin Parish in 2011.
The Franklin Parish School Board and Franklin Parish High School football coach Barry Sebren met last week to publically discuss a proposal that would combine the four parish junior high football teams at Crowville, Baskin, Gilbert, and Fort into a single team called Franklin Parish Junior football.
Last year Sebren had proposed splitting the four schools into pairs to make a North Franklin Parish and South Franklin Parish teams for the 2010 season, but that proposal never got off of the ground.
"I tried to get it split into north and south," Sebren said. "But nothing got better."
Sebren said that this proposal is something he is trying to implement in order to strengthen the football atmosphere in Franklin Parish and get everybody on the same page as players prepare to go into the FPHS system.
