Patriots to host Chiefs on Friday
The Franklin Parish Patriots and Lady Patriots will be back on the basketball court Friday night when they host the West Ouachita Chiefs and Lady Chiefs in district 3-4A competition.
On the boys side, the Patriots (11-8) will be looking to get back into the district race after a huge setback at Wossman last week.
The Patriots were downed by the Wildcats on Friday, 68-57. Wilson Curtis led the way for the Patriots with 17 points while Tavaris Ward scored 12 points and Stedman Sims added 10 points for the Patriots. The Patriots struggled from the very beginning to get their offense going after an extended lay-off from active competition. "We were rusty coming out and the first quarter was the key to the game," Franklin Parish coach Wystee Kerry said. "We didn't shoot the ball well at all and couldn't get much going for us.
"The Patriots had not played a game since a 86-48 loss to Alexandria on Jan. 6.
