New season opening at Princess Theatre

Winnsboro's historic downtown Princess Theatre is preparing to raise the curtain on a new season featuring acts as varied as Mark Twain and the Eagles.

Tribute acts for Twain and the Eagles are slated for the Princess' 21st season since its reopening in 1990 as a performing arts theater. Gene Thompson, the theater's executive director, expects this season to be the best yet.

"Personally, I think it's even going to be better than last year, which was a great season." Thompson said. "Our season-membership is strong again this year. It seems that everyone loves the Princess and wanted to renew their membership for 2011."
