Guice Award recipient to be named
The recipient of the Guice Award will be recognized during the regular meeting of the Franklin Parish School Board at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 10.
The Guice Award is presented annually by Johnny Guice, family representative, in honor of the late Dr. W.M. Guice, first superintendent of the Franklin Parish School System, and the late Rebecca Guice, longtime educator.
"This award is steeped in tradition," said Guice. "Since 1991, we have been honoring outstanding educators. They represent the best our system has to offer."
The recipient receives a plaque and monetary award from the Guice Memorial Fund.
In other business, the 2009-2010 final audit prepared by the firm of Postlewaite & Netterville is on the agenda for the board to consider. Members will vote on the matter at their regular meeting.
