Wisner community enjoys annual parade A glittering entrance to the holiday season, the annual Wisner Christmas Parade draws participants and revelers from communities across the parish and beyond. Spearheaded by Wisner Mayor Allyn Jean Luckett, the yearly parade has something for everyone, young or old.
"It means a lot to the community to have so many people from different areas come out and enjoy our Christmas parade," Luckett said. "It's an effort well-received by the community and we look forward to it each year with great anticipation.
Along with the festooned floats, decorated automobiles, horses and ATVs, parade goers also had the opportunity to sample some barbecue chicken and ribs from the St. Peter Church of Christ Holiness in Wisner.
