Cougars defeat Tensas, fall to Riverdale, 58-38

Franklin Academy fell to Riverdale Friday, 58-38 in its district opener.

The contest was tied 8-8 after one period, but Riverdale took a 29-20 lead at halftime.

Britt Grieme led Franklin with 15 points, while Ethan Vick added 13.

"As a team we played our best defensive game," said Franklin coach Paul Work. "Riverdale is a very good team with good shooters. We could not close the gap in the second half. I hope we continue to play with the same intensity the remainder of the season."

On Dec. 14, Franklin' boys defeated Tensas 56-35.
