Franklin Academy posts 5-4 winning season

The Franklin Academy Cougars finished the 2010 football season with a 4-game winning steak, landing in 3rd place in their MAIS district. The Cougars posted a 5-4 record, the first winning season in Cougar football history.

Overall, the team rushed for more than 2,700 yards and 36 touchdowns.
Offensively, the team was lead by senior running back Rilyn Taylor who rushed for 948 yards and scored seven touchdowns.

Junior Ethan Vick ran for 466 yards and scored a team-leading 12 rushing TDs. Other top rushers include sophomore quarterback Chris Hassell with 419 yards and 6 TDs; 8th grader Ian Black with 401 yards and 4 TDs; and freshman Taylor Gilley with 249 rushing yards and 4 TDs.

Hassell was the team's leading passer, completing 45 of his 80 passes for 813 yards. He threw nine touchdown passes with no interceptions.
