Patriots in Sicily Island tourney
The Franklin Parish Patriots (8-5) and Lady Patriots (2-9) will be back in action this week with games before the Christmas holidays for the Gators and both teams heading to the Sicily Island tournament on Monday, December 27.
The Patriots will be heading to Monroe this Thursday to take on former district rivals the Carroll Bulldogs (6-2) at 7 p.m. at "The Dog Pound."
The Patriots are coming off a trip to Minden in which they went 1-2 in the Minden tournament hosted by the Minden Tigers.
The Patriots opened the tournament with a 63-52 loss to the Jonesboro-Hodge Tigers. In the second day of the tournament, FPHS downed G.W. Carver High School of New Orleans, 67-51 before losing to Red River on Saturday, 70-61.
