Renovations on tap for local landmark

For over 80 years, its been a local landmark and a group of concerned citizens are trying to breath new life into the Old Baskin High School Building.

The structure has been undergoing a renovation for more than a year, but there is still work that needs to be done on the old school, which was built in 1926. To that end, a fundraiser will be held in the building — located on the campus of Baskin School — on Thursday, Dec. 16.

"We are doing work and trying to make sure it is saved, because it really is a monument structure for our community," said Bonnie Torrey, president of the Baskin Women's Club.
