Johnson continues plans recreational park
Winnsboro Mayor Jackie Johnson continues to move forward with his plans to develop a recreational park on land surrounding a portion of Turkey Creek he hopes to be annexed by the city, even though the city council has yet to give a green light to the idea.
Johnson met with Jeanne-Marie Ganucheau, smart growth coordinator for U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu, at Winnsboro City Hall on Thursday, according to the mayor's office.
Johnson was unable to comment earlier this week on the meeting because he was recovering from eye surgery, said Ronald Lewis, an assistant with the mayor's office.
