Franklin native honored for distinguished military career

Retired Col. Charles B. Moore, a Franklin Parish native, was honored earlier this month at Louisiana State University's "A Salute to Louisiana Veterans" for his distinguished military career.

Moore's accolades in the U.S. Air Force include designation as an Air Force Outstanding Supply Officer and twice receiving the Legion of Merit with one-oak-leaf-cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with one-oak-leaf-cluster and Air Force Commendation medal.

Moore began his military career after graduating from LSU in 1959 with a bachelor's degree in business and was commissioned through LSU ROTC.
